A forty-foot container was loaded on July 15, 2017 with medical supplies and equipment bound for Puntland in northern Somalia.
Our partners in this shipment are the Winnipeg Islamic Centre Mission. The supplies will be used at the Garoowe General Hospital and the Agaram Health Centre. The container will be shipped to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates before continuing on to the port of Boosaaso in Puntaland.
The container was loaded with 22 beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, canes, crutches and other much needed equipment together with approximately 580 boxes of general supplies.
Our load master was Barry and together with Putts Transfer did a marvelous job, as usual, of packing the container with no space to spare. Thank you to all IHC volunteers who helped prepare and load this container in three weeks.
Lunch was provided by Irene from the Army, Navy and Airforce Club. Hassan of the Winnipeg Islamic Centre Mission thanked International HOPE for the help the Mission had received.
