SHIP A CONTAINER
If your organization is interested in sending or receiving a container of medical supplies, here’s what’s involved.
Partnership Responsibilities:
- IHC is responsible for ensuring that the items shipped are working and are appropriate for your facilities. We label all boxes, create the manifest and certificate of donation, and load the container.
- Your responsibility is to arrange and pay for shipping and all associated delivery costs, and liaison with the medical facility.
Typical 40 foot Container Contents:
- Hospital Beds – usually 25 to 30 beds per container
- Durable Medical Equipment – for example, wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, doctor’s examination tables, blood pressure devices, weigh scales &, when available, operating room tables, ultrasound and anaesthesia equipment
- Consumable Medical Supplies – usually 500 to 700 boxes of supplies ranging from sutures and dressings to catheters. Each shipment is customized to meet the needs of your hospitals and clinics.
- Supplies for Specific Equipment – special consumables supplies that require specific equipment. These items are only shipped when requested (and available).
