On Friday, September 11th, a meeting was arranged at the Legislature between Deputy Minister for Health & Healthy Living Arlene Wilgosh, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority's CEO Dr. Brian Postl and IHC President Roma Maconachie and
Past President Val McIntyre. As a result of this meeting, IHC and the WRHA have worked out a way for WRHA facilities to continue to donate to IHC without WRHA being held liable by our overseas recipients.
International HOPE Canada would like to thank the Honourable Theresa Oswald, Manitoba's Minister of Health, Deputy Minister for Health and Healthy Living, Arlene Wilgosh and Dr. Brian Postl of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority for working so quickly to find a solution that enables IHC to continue its efforts to aid people in need around the world.
Thank you also to both the local and national media for their excellent coverage and for understanding our desire to find a solution rather than lay blame.
